The Godswill Akpabio Uncommon Transformational Support Organization (GAUTSO), has made a strong request to President Muhammadu Buhari, to make Senator Godswill Akpabio the APC concensus candidate.
The GAUTSO National Coordinator Dr Ben Ogugua made this known following Senator Godswill Akpabio’s commendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, for backing the rotation of the 2023 Presidency to the South.
Dr Ben noted that with the APC Presidential Primaries scheduled for the 6th to the 8th of June, Akpabio will offer the most formidable candidate to face the opposition because if his track record of performances.
According to him”Dear Mr President, it is time to check the antecedents of Senator Akpabio and judge by his past performances, on previous positions, including the human relations and other aspects that make him well-deserving of being named a consensus candidate.”
The National Coordinator of the support goup which has been rallying support for the immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs stated further that Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio after his 20 years of holding public office, as Governor, as a Senator of the Federal Republic has shown capacity and competence.
“A man with the skillset for continuity, he completed abandoned projects which littered everywhere in Akwa Ibom State at the inception of his administration. He can be trusted to carry on the rail project from the current administration, improve the aviation and education sectors and fight crime with the boldness of a caring leader.
“Senator Akpabio has records to prove his mettle where as a governor, he ran the affairs of the state for eight glorious years, during which Akwa Ibom State could not have had it any better in terms of development, popularity, and recognition.
“His performance in office was unprecedented, acknowledged and given resounding applause at home and abroad. It was not for nothing that Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio was known and addressed by his own people and at the national level, as the “Uncommon Transformer”.
The group believes that if President Buhari backs him and he gets the votes of the delegates, APC will certainly have an edge as the astute politician will be a good sell to majority of Nigerians
