Dayo Adeneye Shows Political Strenght As APM’s Guber Candidate Visits Odogbolu

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Hon. AbdulKabir Akinlade took his campaign to Odogbolu Local Government Area, in grand style.

He was hosted by the apex candidate for the Odogbolu State Constituency, Otunba Dayo Adeneye,
(D1), who took him to Okun Owa, to meet thousands of enthusiastic stakeholders, party faithful and various interest groups.

D1 then ushered Hon. Akinlade to Imodi ward, where the ecstatic multitude received the APM team. Otunba Adeneye, speaking in his native Ijebu dialect, appealed for support, saying the APM has the interest of the masses at heart and will do everything to bring development to the ward. A visibly delighted Hon. Akinlade, then pledged to develop the rural areas, including Imodi, which is one of the vital agenda in his manifesto.

Imosan ward, then took its turn in playing host to the Victory Team, led by Hon Akinlade and Otunba Adeneye.

The team was treated to a live band performance with the Baale of Imosan and his entourage receiving the campaign train. Hon Akinlade thanked them for the reception and urged them to vote for him and D1. “Together, if voted in, myself and your son, Dayo Adeneye will work to continue the 25-year developmental master plan, which will be of great benefit to you”, he stated. Hon. Akinlade also promised to construct the Ago Iwoye- Imosan road, if elected. The host candidate, Otunba Adeneye also urged the teeming crowd to support them and promised to empower the constituent on emerging victorious.

The Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Yinusa Adekoya, alongside seven other obas, received the team before it immediately left Imosan to Idowa. The Dagburewe, who said he was happy Otunba Adeneye is the one who led Hon Akinlade to the palace stated that good persons often move with fellow other good persons and gave the campaign his royal blessings. He charged Hon. Akinlade to emulate the feats of Governor Ibikunle Amosun and even better, for the development to be sustained.

Hon. Akinlade, on his part, thanked the royal fathers for their support and said he sought their support in order to continue to rebuild the state. Otunba Dayo Adeneye said the Dagburewe and the other obas are his fathers and so, the visit was that of a son introducing his friends to his father.

Ibefun, the abode of the rave of the moment in Odogbolu, Otunba Dayo Adeneye, showed the Triple A Campaign team what a grand reception means in its entirety. Thousands of Dayo Adeneye supporters thronged the venue and were almost uncontrollable in their jubilation. It was attested that Dayo Adeneye iss a great grassroot man, whose antecedents are still being felt by his people.

The son of the soil, Otunba Adeneye, speaking in his native Ijebu, said Ibefun has always followed people, who are intellectuals and who are emphatic to their plights. He assured Triple A of 100 percent of Ibefun votes. Hon. Akinlade then said “I’m sincerely stunned by this reception. This is unbelievable. I believe that with your showing today, victory is guaranteed. Let’s do the needful and vote massively for myself and D1, your world famous son” he concluded.

Ilado and Idowa wards were then visited by the Triple A Campaign team and Dayo Adeneye Campaign Organization. Hon. Akinlade thanked them for waiting till that time to receive him. He said he will not take their support for granted.

Ososa ward, the home of Sir Hubert Ogunde, was the next port of call for the Victory Team. Otunba Adeneye led the team to meet with the crowd, who waited till very late to receive them. He then received 200 defectors from the Alliance for Democracy (AD), led by their Secretary into the APM. Hon. Akinlade said this was due to the good performance of their son, Otunba Adeneye in office and urged them to vote for D1 and himself in the coming polls.

Otunba Adeneye and Triple A received a massive endorsement by the students of the Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu. The students promised to mobilize and support the APM in the elections. Hon. Akinlade thanked them and promised to meet all SUGs in Ogun after the ward to ward campaigns. Otunba Adeneye then led the team to meet with the Hausa, Ijaw and other interest groups, which also endorsed Triple A and D1.

Joboro – Ibido – Ikise ward, Moraika Ita-Epo, Ala- Igbile ward and Ogbo- Ijagun ward then felt a massive touch of the vitory campaign. The TASUED SUG President, Comrade Adeboun Olamide said the SUG had already met with Otunba Adeneye and were working for his victory and that the students will also extend the campaign to mobilize for Triple A.

The Alaye of Odogbolu, Oba Adedeji Onagoruwa and seven other monarchs, then hosted the train in the palace.

They are the Owa of Okun Owa, Oba G. A Abiodun; the Olowu-iji of Odolowu, Oba Olusegun Abajo; the Obiri of Idobiri Aiyepe, Oba Adebisi Olubanjo; the Alakan of Ilakan Aiyepe, Oba M. D Oseni; the Alaye Aba of Aba Aiyepe, Oba R. A Raji Sulaimon; the Akalako of Ago Aiyepe, Oba I. A Gbadebo and the Olowu of Odolowu Aiyepe Oba Ademola Shobowale.

Hon. Akinlade appreciated them while promising to always seek their wise counsel, when elected governor of the state.

Successful visits to Aiyepe, Odogbolu Ward 1 and 2 then concluded the Campaign to Odogbolu.

Tinubu Presents N47.9trn 2025 Appropriation Bill to NASS

President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, presented the proposed 2025 federal budget to a joint session of the National Assembly.

The N47.9 trillion budget saw a whopping N3.5 trillion allocated to the education sector.

Other sectors that got higher allocations include defence and security – N4.91tn, infrastructure – N4.06tn and health – N2.4tn.

“It is with great pleasure that I lay before this distinguished joint session of the National Assembly, the 2025 Budget of the National Assembly of Nigeria titled, ‘The Restoration Budget’ security peace, building prosperity,” Tinubu said as he concluded his 30-minute presentation at 1:10pm.

This budget highlights the government’s focus on improving education, healthcare, and infrastructure, in line with its ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ aimed at boosting the economy and addressing key national priorities.

The live broadcast of the budget presentation today revealed the government’s plans for the next fiscal year. With a strong emphasis on human capital development, the president highlighted the budget’s commitment to improving the nation’s economic foundation.

Education sector receives major funding 

A significant portion of the 2025 budget is dedicated to education, with N3.5 trillion allocated to the sector. President Tinubu stated that part of this funding would be directed toward infrastructure development, including support for Universal Basic Education (UBEC) and the establishment of nine new higher educational institutions.

We have made provision for N826.90 billion for infrastructural development in the education sector,” Tinubu said.

This allocation aims to improve educational facilities and support ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s educational system.

Focus on human capital development 

During the presentation, the president emphasized the importance of investing in Nigeria’s human capital. “Human capital development, our people are our greatest resource. That is why we are breaking record investment in education, healthcare, our social services,” he remarked.

Tinubu also pointed to the N34 billion already disbursed through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to assist over 300,000 students.

The budget includes continued investments in healthcare and social services as part of the broader goal of enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians.

Strengthening the economy and national security 

Tinubu highlighted that the 2025 budget is designed to build a robust economy while addressing critical sectors necessary for growth and security.

“This budget reflects the huge commitment to strengthening the foundation of a robust economy, while addressing the critical sectors essential for the growth and development we envision; and secure our nation,” he said.

The budget aims to tackle key challenges and foster long-term economic stability by prioritizing infrastructure and development in key sectors.

Healthcare and social services allocations 

In addition to education, Tinubu focused on the allocation for healthcare and social services. The government plans to increase investments in healthcare infrastructure and services to ensure broader access to essential healthcare for Nigerians.

These investments are part of the administration’s strategy to improve overall living conditions and enhance public health across the country.

President Tinubu’s proposed 2025 budget is said to reflect the administration’s commitment to achieving its development objectives, with a focus on economic growth, human capital development, and infrastructure improvement.

As the National Assembly reviews the budget, the president reiterated his administration’s resolve to address the nation’s most pressing needs.

I Stand by What I Said, Kemi Badenoch Replies VP Shettima

The leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has lashed back at Vice President Kashim Shettima over the latter’s reaction to her comments about Nigeria.

Badenoch was born in the UK in 1980 to Nigerian Yoruba parents.

Badenoch, who attained age 16 in Nigeria before departing the country for the UK where she was elected Conservative Party’s leader, described Nigeria as a nation brimming with thieving politicians and insecurity.

However, Shettima, while speaking at the 10th Annual Migration Dialogue at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, December 9, 2024, accused Badenoch of “denigrating her country of origin” with her remarks.

The vice-president listed influential people whose families had migrated to other countries, commending former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as a “brilliant young man who never denigrated his nation of ancestry.”

Reacting on Wednesday, Badenoch lashed back at Shettima, saying she doesn’t do “PR for Nigeria”.

Her spokesperson, as the Tory leader, according to UK Express, said: “Kemi is not interested in doing Nigeria’s PR; she is the Leader of the Opposition in the UK.

“She tells the truth; she tells it like it is; she isn’t going to couch her words. She stands by what she said.”
