Having a Son for Ooni My Greatest Achievement – Queen Naomi

Published

By Eric Elezuo

Oueen Silekunola Naomi Ogunwusi, the estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has revealed that having a son, Tadenikawo, for the custodian of culture, remains her greatest achievement in his 30 years of existence on planet earth.

The queen, who sensationally divorced the Ooni in 2021, made the revelation while fielding questions during an interview with The Punch. She noted that the services she had rendered to divinity since she gave her life to Jesus Christ at the age of nine notwithstanding, she considers her ability to give birth the hope of the throne of Ife, and by extension, Yoruba land, the greatest conquest of her existence so far

While gushing over the feat, the former Mrs Ogunwusi stressed at the question of what she considers her greatest achievement after 30 years:

“Ah, there are quite a lot. You know, for a 30-year-old, people who are three decades ahead of me may not have achieved the things I have achieved in this little time I have spent on earth.

“I am super excited to be the proud mother of Tadenikawo. It is a whole lot; that’s a great achievement that will take precedence over all other achievements I have had.

“In ministry, if we need to put together records of the things I have done, including gathering thousands in the presence of the Lord; many souls and lives have been touched, changed and transformed. I have been instrumental to a lot of people’s successes. You will see 50-year-old people calling me their mother. They are not calling me mummy because I was married to a king, but because of the impact I made in their lives. It is quite a lot.

“Financially, I am not in a bad place. When you look at me spiritually, career-wise as a public speaker, I am a voice; that’s huge, she elucidated.

A proud product of the Michael Ajasin University, Naomi, who revealed that she formally started ministry at the age of 18 at the call of God, when most girls were having the time of their lives, further stated that giving birth to Ooni’s son, who invariably is the crown prince is probably the greatest miracle of her life, and nothing short of a great feeling. She gushes at the feeling and remostrated.

“It feels beautiful and the greatest miracle I have experienced in three decades of my life. You can’t take that away from me. Ask me to drop everything; the crown he has given me, my son is my crown, Ademide. He is not going anywhere; it is a precious gift, and my shoulder pad is high. I am holding it like a priceless, untapped, natural resource.  I am very excited about it.

“I feel very proud and honoured by God. I still can’t tell what I did; I still can’t tell why God loves me this much because I tell you, God has to love me to give me that golden child. I am the golden goose that lays the golden egg. That is how it feels. It is a special gift. I am still going to talk about that in a few years to come. I can’t get over the miracle.”

Beautiful and with the temperament of a perfectionist, Naomi has promised the world a surprise as regards her next action ever since she separated from the king. She noted however, that reconciling with the Ooni is not part of her agenda as she doesn’t have the capacity to survive in the midst of six beautiful and strong women, who are presently Ooni’s wives, adding however, that she was single.
“…do I look like someone who can survive in the midst of six mature and strong women? No! She is but a soft, strong, gentle woman and I can’t be a square peg in a round hole,” she said.
Recall that in December 2021, Queen Silekunola Naomi announced her separation from the Ooni of Ife in a lengthy statement posted on her verified Instagram handle and Facebook page. The marriage was just three years old.

She had claimed that she tried to make the union work but the Ooni’s public identity was at variance with “his true self”.

She wrote, “I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done. He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on. Religion was never an issue between us; please refer to my interview on News Central TV. Instead, His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self.”

“Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.”

She however denied leaving the Ooni because of marrying another queen as she was the only one married to him while their relationship lasted.

“As many would love to assume, throughout our life as a couple, I was the only married wife to him. There were side attractions, but it was never an issue, she clarified.

Without any regret in her 30-year sojourn on earth, the queen of the people as she calls herself is trudging on, working on many surprises to hit her world with.

“The world should just wait; there is something huge and beautiful. I am launching a business soon and quite a lot of other things. I will love to just announce it when it is here, she added.

Free at Last: Burkina Faso Releases 11 Nigerian Soldiers, Aircraft

Burkina Faso has released Nigerian soldiers who were detained after their aircraft made a forced landing in the Sahelian country earlier this month, Nigerian officials said.

The release followed a diplomatic intervention by President Bola Tinubu, who dispatched a high-level delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, to meet Burkina Faso’s Military Leader, Ibrahim Traoré, on Wednesday.

In a statement, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Tuggar’s spokesperson, said both sides resolved the matter amicably and secured the release of the Nigerian Air Force pilots and crew.

The soldiers had been held for nearly two weeks after the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) described the aircraft’s landing as an “unfriendly act” carried out in defiance of international law.

The Nigerian Air Force, however, said the crew encountered a technical issue that required a precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso, the nearest available airfield. It said the landing complied with standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols.
