Rotary International District 9110 which covers Lagos and Ogun States in Nigeria has held its yearly Presidents-elect Training Seminar (PETS) in Lagos.

The training aimed at equipping the would-be presidents, who will be running their various clubs from July 2019- June 2020, with the requisite knowledge and tools for the task ahead.

At the opening session, District Governor, Rtn Kola Shodipo urged the Presidents-elect to see themselves as first among equals, while laying emohasis on team work.

In his remarks, Distict Governor-elect, Rtn Jide Akeredolu who introduced the theme for the upcoming Rotary Year as ” Rotary: Connect The World”, noted that the district was going to introduce a lot of innovation chief among them being the deployment of technology in its operations.

He also hinted that his goal will be to ensure that Rotarians in the district make more impact in their various communities, attract more vibrant members and donate handsomely to the Rotary Foundation to enable it fund its major programmes like polio eradication.
He also revealed what he called the one million dollar challenge which will see Rotarians in the district raising $1m dollars through the sale of $5(N1900) tickets. He noted that the tickets will be open to Rotarians and non Rotarians.

According to him, apart from the fact that purchasers of the tickets will be helping to support charitable causes around the world through the Rotary Foundation,they also stand a chance of winning juicy prizes. He promised all presidents-elect present an exciting journey as they prepare to touch lives and impact society.
