Life Coach: The Truth About You

Published

on

By Lamide Adenuga

I may not know you but I know this one thing about you; there is Greatness within you. For some folks, you may not know it, you may not feel like it, but the truth is that you are great, you are gifted, and you are talented, there are so many good things waiting to happen for you and screaming inside you to make them happen. That is the plain Truth.

While the facts in your life right now may be that you don’t have things together yet, you are struggling to make the best of a bad situation, making efforts to bring split ends together, the Truth still remains the Truth; there is Greatness inside you, truths are more real than facts. While facts are based on what people see, the Truth remains what truly is. It was Winston Churchill who said “the truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but at the end, there it is”. So always choose to believe the truth about yourself, that in the midst of your struggles, your challenges, and your efforts to making the most of your life, that Greatness resides inside you.

You are working on yourself, developing yourself, striving to be a better person and improve the quality of your life, and really trying to get in touch with the greatness inside you, but people won’t see that, they can’t see what you are working on, so they will give their opinions and pass their comments based on the facts they see which are the momentary challenges you are trying to meander your way out of, but the truth is what they are seeing is not the sum total of your life.

An analogy I can readily give is this; Let’s assume I have a car, I want to get something in my neighborhood or even far off in town and I decided not to drive, I decide to walk or go by public transport, does that change the truth that I have a car at home. But someone who sees me walking on the road or sitting in a public transport might pity me, oh, eh ya, this guy does not even have a ride, but does that in any way affect me, does it erase the reality that my car is at home. But the same way someone ran into me walking on the road or boarding a public bus and immediately concludes that I don’t have a car, even without knowing anything about me and without knowing that I have a car in my house, is the same way people will look at you and see your struggles on the outside, see the challenges you are faced with, and they might conclude that is all there is to you. They don’t know the potentials you have within you, they can’t see all the good stuff you are working on, they can’t see that you are a work in progress.

So you should not be bothered by what people think, feel or say about you, you should rather be bothered on working on your goals and dreams, be bothered about pushing yourself to make your dreams come to fulfillment, be bothered about believing the truth about yourself instead of the facts surrounding you.

Always develop yourself and keep improving on yourself on the journey to becoming who it is you truly are. Know in your heart of hearts that truths are more real than facts, and that who you are right now is not the sum total of your life, who you will become is more important; a person of influence, a person of affluence.

The truth about you is that there is Greatness within you, get in touch with that greatness and become who you were born to be.

So you should not be bothered by what people think, feel or say about you, you should rather be bothered on working on your goals and dreams, be bothered about pushing yourself to make your dreams come to fulfillment, be bothered about believing the truth about yourself instead of the facts surrounding you.

The leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has lashed back at Vice President Kashim Shettima over the latter’s reaction to her comments about Nigeria.

Badenoch was born in the UK in 1980 to Nigerian Yoruba parents.

Badenoch, who attained age 16 in Nigeria before departing the country for the UK where she was elected Conservative Party’s leader, described Nigeria as a nation brimming with thieving politicians and insecurity.

However, Shettima, while speaking at the 10th Annual Migration Dialogue at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, December 9, 2024, accused Badenoch of “denigrating her country of origin” with her remarks.

The vice-president listed influential people whose families had migrated to other countries, commending former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as a “brilliant young man who never denigrated his nation of ancestry.”

Reacting on Wednesday, Badenoch lashed back at Shettima, saying she doesn’t do “PR for Nigeria”.

Her spokesperson, as the Tory leader, according to UK Express, said: “Kemi is not interested in doing Nigeria’s PR; she is the Leader of the Opposition in the UK.

“She tells the truth; she tells it like it is; she isn’t going to couch her words. She stands by what she said.”
