Former First Lady of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola has accepted to officially commission Liberty Place, the new Head Office Complex of Lagos-based Non Governmental Organization, Jandor Foundation.
The new office complex located on busy Adeniyi Jones street, Ikeja, Lagos will be opened on Tuesday October 1, 2019 and will function as the Foundation’s Head Office as well as
Secretariat.
Speaking on this cheering news, the Lead Visioner, Jandor Foundation, Mr. Abdul-Azeez
Olajide Adediran said it is not accidental that the official commissioning coincides
with Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration, noting that it strongly aligns and
symbolizes the vision of the Foundation which is to empower the needy in our society
towards helping them become independent and self-sufficient.
According to him “the new office complex is part of our continuous improvement to the Foundation’s support services model. The successes of our empowerment initiatives, especially over the past two years, have been very encouraging and an office complex such as this will provide the required support infrastructure and help us be better positioned to
seamlessly execute  our ambitious plans in future . We deliberately named it Liberty
Place because we strongly believe it will help many, especially our indigent folks become
independent on many fronts” .
Other special guests and dignitaries expected at the event will include top
government functionaries, private sector leaders, politicians, traditional rulers, sister
NGO representatives and friends of the foundation.
Jandor Foundation was formally established in 2017 as an organization committed to
building structures that offer hope to the indigent. In a society where hope is
practically missing, the Foundation has quickly earned a reputation and has become
identified as restorers of hope.
In just under 2years of operation in Lagos, the  Foundation already has over 1,000 volunteer staff who have worked hard to help transform thousands of lives and commissioned over 150 projects.

Burkina Faso has released Nigerian soldiers who were detained after their aircraft made a forced landing in the Sahelian country earlier this month, Nigerian officials said.

The release followed a diplomatic intervention by President Bola Tinubu, who dispatched a high-level delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, to meet Burkina Faso’s Military Leader, Ibrahim Traoré, on Wednesday.

In a statement, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Tuggar’s spokesperson, said both sides resolved the matter amicably and secured the release of the Nigerian Air Force pilots and crew.

The soldiers had been held for nearly two weeks after the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) described the aircraft’s landing as an “unfriendly act” carried out in defiance of international law.

The Nigerian Air Force, however, said the crew encountered a technical issue that required a precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso, the nearest available airfield. It said the landing complied with standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols.
