The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Chief Tom Ikimi to head a screening committee saddled with the responsibility of choosing a suitable running mate for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The committee, according to a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon Debo Ologunagba, will be addressed as the Vice Presidential Candidate Screening Committee (VPSC), and is expected to sit on Thursday June 16, 2022 at the NWC hall of the party’s Wadata House, Abuja, secretariat.
Ologunagba’s statement also observed that other members of the 12-man committee are H.E. Capt. Idris I. Wada (rtd), Chief Osita Chidoka, Rt. Hon. Binta Bello, Chief Mrs. Alh. Mutiat Adedoja, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, Prof. Aisha Madawaki, Mrs. Ayotunde George-Ologun, Chief Mrs. Chidiebelu Mofus, H.E. Fidelis Tapgun, Dr. Akilu Indabawa – Secretary, and Mr. Sunday Omobo, who will serve as the Administrative Secretary.
