2023: Ex-PDP Office Holders to Umo Eno “Your Humility Will Lead You To Victory”

Date:

Former Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) officers were filled with immense joy on Saturday April 9, 2022 as they were honoured and consulted by leading 2023 gubernatorial aspirant , Pastor Umo Eno.

The event held at the State PDP Secretariat was very convivial as the former officers revealed that since the inception of the party in 1998 no aspirant has shown them such recognition.

They described Pastor Umo Eno as a God- fearing team player, who has what it takes to sustain the peace in the state as well as pivot its entrepreneurial development.

According to them, Umo Eno’s humility and penchant for carrying everyone along will certainly lead to his victory at the party primary and at the gubernatorial election

In the course of the ceremony, former State Deputy Chairman, Sir Michael Essang, former House of Assembly Member, Obong Aniedi Andem, and former State Legal Adviser, Barr. Godwill Umoh spoke for Eket, Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts respectively, while former Ibeno PDP Chairman, Ekokwaha Etteh, spoke for former local government chapter chairmen.

According to Sir Esang “Someone who has experience in a position,is the one who can best advise on who can manage that position properly and we believe that our leader,  Governor Udom Emmanuel has taken a wise and informed decision concerning 2023 and from your attitude, it is obvious he has not made a mistake.

“We, the former officers of the party in Eket Senatorial District have already made up our minds to support your aspiration,” Essang said.
This was corroborated by Barr. Godwill Umoh, as well as Obong Aniedi Andem and Mr. Etteh
The scenario was a replica of the famous moonlight gathering of a typical Akwa Ibom communal setting as Pastor Eno took time to interact and exchange pleasantries with everyone.

While thanking them for their contributions and sacrifices for the party over the years,
Pastor Eno harped on his ability to create jobs, boost rural development and support the youths to be economically self-reliant.
“Rather than throwing money at our young people, I will focus on enhancing their capacities and creating opportunities that will enable them to make a decent living on their own.
Pastor Eno said he came to Akwa Ibom State on his own volition and from a small beginning,  he has built a conglomerate of businesses that are employing many people, adding that with the experience of being able to grow businesses, he has the formula for prosperity.
“I am here with you and interacting with you freely, I will never give you any oath to take to support me, because I want you to go with your conscience because I am here to serve and not to rule over anybody.

“With your support, I know we can make this state the pride of Nigeria and beyond” the seasoned entrepreneur stated amidst applause.

Pastor Eno was accompanied by the members of the Maintain Peace Movement, led by the International Chairman, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, Deputy Chairman of his Campaigns, Dr. Godwin Ntukude, and several members of Umo Eno support organisations.
