Presidential hopeful and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Aare Dele Momodu, has continued his presidential consultation tours with a high-powered stopover in the heart of the South East region, Enugu State.
Whilein Enugu, the celebrated journalist, who declared his Intention to run for the presidency of Nigeria in 2023, is expected to visit party stalwarts and revered traditional institutions for blessings and familiarisation.
In the last couple of weeks, Aare Momodu has been making waves as the only serious aspirant with tours across the federation. In February, he undertook a groundbreaking homecoming to his roots in Ihievbe, Edo State, where he was heartily received and ‘endorsed’.
The trip also took him to he palace of the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II and the government house, where he had a fruitful discussion with Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Subsequently, the Momodu presidential team visited Osun and Oyo states, paying homage to the Ooni of Ife, Ataoja of Osogbo, Olufi of Gbongan, Alaafin of Oyo, Olubadan Designate, Oluwo of Iwo among many others.
The PDP presidential primary is expected to hold within the year, and Momodu is confident of picking the ticket to fly the party’s flag in the February 2023 presidential election as he is the most qualified in the race.
