Leading human rights and constitutional lawyer, Prof. Mike Ozekhome, and his wife, Barr Josephine Ozekhome, have bagged honorary recognitions as frontliners in the law profession.
These present honours are being bestowed by Leadtimes Africa Magazine, in collaboration with Highstone Global University, Texas, USA during the organisation’s Good Governance summit, scheduled to hold at the University of Lagos in March.
The Leadership Summit, which promises to also recognise selected prominent Nigerian businessmen and professionals is themed: Promoting Good Governance Through Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship -Antidote to Sustainable Peace and Poverty Reduction in Africa.
While the human rights activist and pro-democracy campaigner, Chief Mike Ozekhome will be honored with a professorial chair in International Law and Diplomacy of the institution, his wife, Lady Josephine Ozekhome, will bag an honorary degree in International Law & Diplomacy.
Stating the criteria that qualified the Ozekhomes for the honours, in a press statement, the President of Highstone Global University, Texas, Professor Maurice Azubuike, noted that “Chief Ozekhome’s nomination for professorial chair by the institution is in recognition of his outstanding leadership role in Africa as one of most renowned constitutional lawyers, human rights activists and pro-democracy crusaders in Africa today.”
He further stated that Ozekhome’s inclusion among this recipients makes the ceremony thick and unique.
