A lone goal scored via penalty by Captain Troost Ekong in the 55th minute of the game was all the Super Eagles needed to go past Cote d’Ivoire in their second group A game of the 2024 African Cup of Nations AFCON) tournament.
The game was played inside the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé.
Nigeria is presently tied on four points with Equitorial Guinea while Cote d’Ivoire trails with three points. Guinea Bissau has been eliminated, having lost their first two games.
