Lawyer and Executive Secretary, African Procurement Institute (API), Mr. Chetam Thierry Nwala, has accused former governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of demanding N2 billion out of the N5 billion palliative released to Rivers State by the Federal Government to cushion the effects of removal of fuel subsidy, and the present harsh economic reality.
Nwala, who was speaking live on Arise TV’s Morning also accused the former governor of demanding a whopping 25 per cent of the state allocation on a monthly basis.
Nwala was speaking as a fall out of the crises that befell the state on Monday when alleged attempt by the state House of Assembly to impeach the governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara, was thwarted.
The former student leader attacked Wike as being high handed and running the affairs of the state even as his tenure was long over.
Recall that crises erupted in the state, starting with the Sunday fire outbreak at the Assembly complex, which snowballed into full constitutional issues on Monday.
