FG Bans Sales, Distribution of Petroleum Products Within Border Areas

The Federal Government has banned the sales and distribution of petroleum products within 20 kilometers of the nation’s borders.
The ban was announced in a letter signed by the Deputy Comptroller General of Customs (E, I & I), Mr Chidi, Al on behalf of the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali, and circulated to all Customs units.
Titled Suspension of Petroleum Products Supplies to Filling Stations Within 20 Kilometers OF All Borders, the letter noted that “the Comptroller General of Customs has directed that henceforth no petroleum products no matter the tank size is permitted to be discharged in any filling station within 20 Kilometers of the borders.”
The letter, with reference number EII/2019/CIRCULAR NO. 027, directed all units to ‘ensure strict and immediate compliance’.
