House of Reps Sets Up Committee to Investigate Edo Assembly Crisis

Date:

By Eric Elezuo

The House of Representatives has resolved to set up a committee to investigate the ongoing crisis in the Edo State House of Assembly.

The House took the decision during plenary on Wednesday having amended an earlier decision to take over the business of the Edo Assembly completely until sanity is restored.

The committee to be established will have one week to report its findings.

It would be recalled that only nine out of the 24 members of the House were sworn, allegedly at the instance of the governor, Godwin Obaseki. The crisis has also pitched the governor against the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The Edo Assembly comprised only members of the APC.
