The immediate past governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has said that there are hypocrites in the rank and file of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aregbesola made the remarks while speaking at the highly controversial APC campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday.
The former governor’s speech was a fall out of the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s speech where he campaigned for both the APC and the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
Amosun has, however, provoked the party leaders when he urged his supporters to vote Buhari on February 16 while he stylishly supported Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement.
This, it was observed, provoked the APC leaders at the rally, prompting Aregbesola to take the microphone and described Amosun as a hypocrite.
Though he was not scheduled to speak at the rally considering the programme of event, Aregbesola could not hide his chagrin at the way Amosun spoke and addressed the crowd, in Yoruba, saying, “We are not happy with the hypocrites among us. We are the APC, but, many people are hypocrites here. We must ensure that in February and March, we vote the APC.”
The rally was marred with thugs allegedly loyal to Amosun pelting stones, sachet water and other objects at the party leaders.
