Police Vacate Akwa Ibom Assembly

Date:

The Police on Friday ended their siege on the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

All entrances to the complex which had been barricaded since Tuesday morning are now open.

The withdrawal of the Police from the Akwa Ibom parliamentary building may not be unconnected with the Senate directive on Thursday that they should vacate the premises.

Recall that the Police had taken over the premises since Tuesday bringing to a halt both legislative and administrative business.
