Alaafin Of Oyo, HRM Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III has joined his ancestors. The popular Yoruba Monarch reported breathed his last at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital Ado-Ekiti where he had gone for routine medical check.
Alaafin, 82, who reigned for 52 years was reportedly planning to travel out of Nigeria for medical check up before he passed.
Palace sources revealed to TheBoss that his remains have since been returned to the royal grounds and funeral rites have begun.
Fondly called Iku Babayeye, the monarch, loved for his boxing skills and outspoken nature will be greatly missed.
