Founder/President, SILEC Initiatives, Amb. Sunny Irakpo, has led a team of executives to pay a courtesy on the Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Comrade Isaac Weyinmi at his Prof. Chike Edozie State Secretariat office, in Asaba.
Reporting the visit, Irakpo wrote:
“While conveying his congratulatory message to the Honourable Commissioner for his tireless efforts and love for the youths for the past years which resulted to his appointment to man the affairs of the youths in the state, Irakpo voiced that there’s no better time than now for his kind to manage the youths affairs in order to bring rapid development to the state.
“SILEC on his introduction of their nation and global initiative (Silec Initiatives), said the noble endeavour has played a significant role in changing the narrative as far as combating social vices such as drug abuse is concerned in Nigeria and across the globe. And that being a pragmatic Deltan who believes that Delta State should be the best state in the federation, have it that the time has come for SILEC to join efforts with the ministry to make this achieveable and for him to be the best Honourable Commissioner Delta State will ever produce.
“In his words, Silec Initiatives is determined to do their best with the “Delta Beyond Drugs” campaign project and the U.S based Citizenship Diplomacy Leadership Exchange Program to help build leadership skills and capacity of young people for the state and to bring the youths up to speed in our fight against their enemy (drug abuse) so the future aspiration of every youth in Delta state can be gladly fulfilled.
“He thanked the Honourable Commissioner for his open door policy and the manadate to work with brighter youths of the state to bring the needed development.
“The Honourable Commissioner, Comrade Isaac Weyinmi, appreciated the outstanding humanitarian services of SILEC as he promised that the ministry would surely work together with SILEC Initiatives to do the uncommon in his time. The meeting has in attendance the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, Delta State, Ms. Ngozi Mogbolu, who expressed the readiness of the ministry to collaborate with Silec Initiatives in the fight against drug abuse in the state, and that the issue of drug abuse truly requires urgent attention and collaborative approach so the lives of the youths can be rescued from total destruction as we envisioned a better and greater Delta State.”
