Breaking: PEPT Judgment: Atiku Files Appeal at the Supreme Court

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the February 25, 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar has filed its application at the Supreme Court, challenging the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal judgement of September 6, 2023.

In a 42-page document signed by the lead counsel, Chief Chris Uche on behalf of the legal team, and dated September 18, 2023, Atiku and PDP expressed dissatisfaction at the judgment of the lower court, saying it ‘erred in law when despite the clear provisions of enabling status namely the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), the Electoral Act of 2022, the Regulations and Guidelines for the conduct of the Elections and the Manual for Election Officials’, it still proceeded to hold as contained in the document below:

NOTICE OF APPEAL

By this, Atiku has stayed within the 12 weeks window the law permitted to file an appeal.
