The Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh, has rolled out the drums to celebrate management and staff of the local government as he marks two years in office.
The ceremony, which was held at the council Secretariat on 41 Road, FESTAC Town, Lagos, kicked off with prayers from Mrs. Sanni Sherifat Olawunmi and Rilwan Quadri, representing the Christian and Muslim faith respectively.
The lively gathering was designed to propagate the African cultural heritage, and it showcased diverse African cultures through dance. Some of routines displayed included Eyo and other Yoruba dance, Zulu dance from South Africa as well as the , Igbo and Hausa dance. There was also special presentation by the Palmwine Drinkards Club aka Kegites.
There was opportunity for healthy laughter as MC Rhelax unleashed rib cracking jokes while Yinka Sax provided sonorous tunes from her saxophone.
The wholesome cultural outing packaged by Damilola Onatoye of Stitches and Budgets also saw guests served assorted Nigerian delicacies.
Those who attended the event were Engr Valentine Buraimoh & his wife, Mrs. Opeyemi Buraimoh, Hon. Olusegun Abubakar Idris, Hon. Hammed Olanrewaju Mohammed, Hon. Adebayo Adedeji, Hon. Utah Nuhu, Otunba Akin Adetifa, Hon. Adewumi Ogunshina, Hon. Ojomo Michael, Mr. Tobun Nurudeen, Hon. Jimi Shobayo, Mr. Jelili Atiku, Temitayo Raji-Dabiri and Mrs. Aminat Oyenuga.
