I remember reading somewhere not too long ago, that; “circumstances do not define you, it’s the decisions you make in responding to those circumstances that define you”. The summary of this in essence is that; “you are a product of your decisions”.
In the real sense of it, the words that make up that sentence are not far from the truth, and the sentence itself makes a whole lot of sense, it’s not your circumstances that define you, rather, it’s the decisions that you make or you do not make in the middle of the circumstances you’re in that defines you. You need to brace yourself and make the right decisions, throughout the rain and the pain you need to make the right decisions, because ultimately, they will not only define you, but they will define what will become of you.
There is also this famous quote I heard and I loved when I was growing up; “I may not be able to determine what happens to me, but I sure have what it takes to determine how I respond to it”, these are powerful words needed to strengthen your heart and your mind, these are words that will help you stand strong.
Somebody may not agree with me, and may be saying right now; that talk is cheap, it’s easier said than done, what is this guy talking about, he doesn’t even know what I’m going through, you don’t know the circumstances and the situation I’m in, you can’t just tell me to take it easy, or I should make helpful decisions, I am overwhelmed by happenings already, that I can’t even think of any decision to take. My Dear friend, trust me, I feel you, I understand what you’re talking about, and I know where the shoe pinches, but you still gat to be positive, you’ve gat to be strong mentally, because truth is when the trials and the storms of life come, ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE.
Make a decision to be strong, make a decision to be optimistic, make a decision to keep pushing on, make a decision to stay alive, make a decision to keep trying, make a decision that the circumstances I’m in will not drown me, make a decision because after all is said and done, you will be a product of your own decisions.
Maybe things are not playing out the way you expect, you should make a decision that you will not give up on yourself. Perhaps you’ve been applying for a contract for long and they keep turning you down, you should make a decision that you will keep trying.
When things go on smoothly in life and in business, we readily accept the fact and take the credits that things are so because of our decisions. So also we should know that if things are not working well, we can make them work well, and we can make our lives better by the decisions we make.
So dear friend, whatever may be the case, you’re not a product of your circumstances, but of your decisions, so make the right decisions as you proceed in life, as you begin to approach your future, make a decision to be happy, make a decision to always go forward and press on, make the right decisions to be strong and positive irrespective of what the circumstances are, and soon enough, the chips will fall in your favour.
