When the mighty falls, the earth reverberates in agony, and so it was as member of the House of Representatives and daughter of Doyin Group of Companies owner, Dr. Samuel Adedoyin, Honourable Olufunke Deborah Adeodoyin, embarked on her final journey to eternity.

The event, which was a pot pourri of tears, sorrow and regrets gathered friends, colleagues and family members from all walks of life, who came to pay their last respects to a woman many considered a gem and role model.

The two days rite of passage kicked off with a wake keep and tribute night at BICS Gardens, Lekki, Lagos, where mourners poured encomiums on the departed for a life well lived. The outpouring of grief at the event matched the dull colours of the hall which automatically depicted the mood of the moment.

The deceased 23 years old her son, Tamilore Adedoyin Dada, was on hand to relive the live and times of his mother, saying that he has known his mum to be a selfless person who live to impact people’s lives.

“She has trained numerous number of people through school, most of whom she does not even know,” he said.
In emotional laden voice, he admonished the guest not to cry but celebrate the great legend.

The Minister in Charge of Trinity House, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, thereafter prayed for the members of the deceased father, asking God for strength to bear the loss they suffered.
The following day, a funeral service was held in her honour at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pavilion Parish, Victoria Island, Lagos with loved ones in attendance.

In his message titled ‘Looking at Death Through the Mirror of Life’ the officiating minister, Pastor Biyi Solomon, encouraged the congregation to emulate Princess Adedoyin’s life style, saying it was a model for God’s standard, and that will eventually speak for the individual. He also reminded the guests of the fact that there is life after death. His sermon was succeeded by the interment.

Among notable individuals that graced the event were the Wife of the Senate President, Mrs Oluwatoyin Saraki; wife of Kwara State Governor, H.E. Dcns Omolewa Ahmed; Founder, SHE Forum Africa, Ms. Inimfon Etuk; Snr Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor, Dr. Biola Adimula; Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Babajimi Benson, Olumide Okunola, Dr. Aderemi Desalu, Dr. Wale Babalakin, Prof. Isaac Adelowo, Senator Lanre Tejuosho, Dr. Jaf Momoh, Mrs. Boade Akinola among many others.
Hon. Olufunke Adedoyin, until her death was a member of Federal House of Representatives representing Irepodun, Ekiti, Isin, and Oke-Ero, Kwara State. She died after a brief illness at the age of 56.
