The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and Vertical Inspirations, with the full endorsement of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, have concluded arrangements to host the maiden edition of the Agricultural Quality Excellence Awards.
The event is set to take place at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano State under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbe with the governor of the state, Alhaji Umar Ganduje as the chief host.
Describing the intentions behind the awards, the National President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), and Chairperson, Awards Organising Group, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, said it is to continue to contribute to national development and complement the efforts of the Federal Government in promoting the agricultural sector in all its ramifications.
The President noted further that the awards is in partnership with ‘Vertical Inspirations, relevant organisations and stakeholders in the sector’.
The event, which is being coordinated by the Technical Adviser on Quality Control and Standardisation to the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs Heather Ronke Akanni, has already received the endorsement of the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), and is billed to take place on November 20, 2018 in Kano.
The award categories include All Round Afro Excellence, Agribusiness Leader, Best Rising Farmer, Innovation in Agriculture, Best Agro-Processing, Best Agro-Marketing, Best Agro-Design and Fabrication, Best Use of Technology, Host State Award and Special Award for Excellence.
