Art and its impact on life and the environment formed the focus of the discourse when talented artist, Adekepemi Aderemi held her debut solo exhibition in Lagos.
The artist chose as venue Alara, the classy lifestyle brand dedicated to contemporary art, design and culture and this decision was applauded by many of the guests as very apt.

The event titled “Portals”, featured various works that brought to fore the aesthetic imagination and influences of the artist.
Speaking about her work, she noted that the exhibition was an event in self-discovery with a deep recognition of the new genre of textile and African art.
“By studying my surroundings and recreating them in my own way, I am able to develop a deep understanding of the environment within which I exist and my function in it- which, to me, is the only way one can find their true purpose” she said.

The ambience was cosy and her images were displayed in such a way that they aroused the curiosity of guests.
Those who attended included: Prof. Kayode Oyediran, Princess Kemi Aderemi, Olori Ladun Sijuade, Mr. Ayodele Subair, Mrs. Ayotola Ayodeji, Hajia . Bisi Shuaibu, Mr. Olajide Bello and Mr. Uzoma Dozie.
