The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kano State has suspended it auditor general in Chedi, Kano Municipal LGA, Mr. Bashir Ishaq Ibrahim.
A suspension letter signed by Sani Auwal Mudi, Ward Chairman of Chedi Ward Kano Municipal LGA, who copied the local government and state chairmen of the party, said the auditor general was suspended in line with sections 58(1), 59(2) and 4 of the party’s constitution as amended.
The PDP Ward Executives of Chedi Ward said Bashir was suspended indefinitely for violating section 58(1) of the party’s constitution, specifically where he made public derogatory statements about the party, which can tend to bring the party into contempt, hatred, odium or opprobrium, or lower the party in the estimation of the public, which is also akin to an anti-party activity.
According to the letter, the suspension takes effect from 25th January, 2025.
The letter said the suspension became essential so as not to allow Bashir to destroy the party and the fragile peace that is being enjoyed in Chedi ward, Kano Municipal LGA and Kano PDP chapter at large.
The letter of suspension was signed by Sani Auwal Mudi (Chairman), Sani Sufi (Vice Chairman) and Ni’imatullahi Yahaya Faruk Chedi (Secretary).
