The gunmen reportedly attacked a hotel belonging to the local government chairman, Ikechukwu Odono.
The attack allegedly led to the burning of many vehicles around the vicinity.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the attack to Daily Post in a telephone conversation, on Monday.
He said the unfortunate incident occurred at Ezzamgbo junction on Sunday night, leading to the killing of one yet-to-be-identified person.
The Police PRO said more personnel have been drafted to the area to unravel the circumstances behind the attack.
The latest attack is coming barely two weeks after a POS operator was attacked and killed in the same area.
