A group, by the aegis, South West APC Support Groups have cautioned President Bola Tinubu against channeling all appointments meant for the South West to Lagos, saying it is detrimental both his administration and the South West.
The group, in a strongly worded letter titled Dangers of Lagoaizing South West, and dated July 19, 2023, noted that ever since the inception of the Tinubu administration, majority of his appointments have favoured only Lagos based politicians.
“A cursory look at the appointments made so far under his administration showed that majority of people around Mr President are all Lagos politicians. While they may not all be indigenous of Lagos, but these are politicians based in Lagos who have have played all their politics, lived in Lagos and as a matter of fact, made Lagos their constituency,” the statement said.
The letter, which was signed by the Coordinator of the group, Comrade Dele Fulani, and the Secretary, Comrade Lanre Asiwaju, threatened that the unrest against the Tinubu government may likely begin from the South West if the matter is not urgently addressed.
The group also kicked against the appointment of the Chief of Staff to the President as Chairman of the Committee that will constitute Ministeries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) over the Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator George Akume, insisting that it be reversed.
