Hayatudeen Quits PDP Presidential Contest

Date:

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-deen, has withdrawn from the contest.

In a letter dated May 27, 2022, addressed to the PDP National Chairman, Dr. iyorchia Ayu, Hayatu-deen  said, “it is therefore based on personal principles and with great humility that I have decided after wide consultations to withdraw from this contest which has been obscenely monetised.”

Hayatu-deen’s withdrawal from the contest makes him the second PDP aspirant to withdraw from the race. Former Governor Peter Obi had earlier dropped his presidential bid on the platform of PDP and also resigned from the party.
