Fake News: Sunday Igboho Has Not Been Arrested, Lagos Rally Still Holds

The news making the rounds about the arrest of Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, by the DSS, is fake, The Boss can authoritatively report.

Speaking with The Boss, a source, who is close to the activist, said mischievous people are peddling the news of the arrest, adding that it was just a way of creating distraction.

The source maintained that the planned rally for Lagos on Saturday, July 3 will still hold as scheduled as everything is already set.

Recall that the Department of State Service (DSS) invaded the him of Sunday Igboho in Soka, Ibadan early Thursday morning where a shootout ensued. At the end, two members of Sunday Igboho’s group were killed and property destroyed.

The DSS confirmed the raid, and reported that they arrested 13 persons from the house and recovered weapons and charms. Sunday Igboho has since denied ownership of the weapons.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State government has vowed to forcefully resist any form rally, demonstration or protest in Lagos on Saturday, and placed men on red alert.
