A lawyer, Mr. Kalu Kalu has petitioned the Metropolitan Police, London, against the Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, over alleged presentation of forged certificate during the just concluded Presidential Election Tribunal.

In a letter addressed to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, and dated August 14, 2019, and titled PETITION AGAINST MR ABBA KYARI FOR FORGING CAMBRIDGE ASSESSMENT INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION DOCUMENT, Mr. Kalu of Kalu  Kalu and Associates noted that on July 30, 2019, Mr. Kyari presented as exhibit, a copy of Cambridge certificate purportedly belonging to President Buhari, and issued by the said institution.

“On the 30th day of July, 2019, one Mr. Abba Kyari claimed to have procured from CAMBRIDGE ASSESSMENT INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION in London and within the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom a certifying statement, a document of controversy, if not dubious origin for the sole purpose of deceiving the general public in United Kingdom and Nigeria,” the petition read.

The lawyer insisted that the purpose of the petition is to request an official investigation on the circumstance leading to the procurement of the document.

The document was issued in the name of Mohammed Buhari and delivered to Abba Kyari.

Mr. Kyari had appeared at the Presidential Election Tribunal as a prime witness for President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
