The party in a statement released  on Tuesday, said it was not part of the protest as Sowore still remained suspended from the party.

Sowore was in the early hours of Saturday, August 3 picked up by men of the Department of State Service in his Lagos home, and has remained in custody ever since.

The protest, which took place on Monday, August 5, registered partial success.
