The youths, they say, are the leaders of tomorrow; this is certainly what was exhibited at the glitzy Youth Gala Night held ahead of the 2019 Celebrate The Comforter programme, which comes up on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
The major highlight of the glamorous evening of praise, prayers, music, lecture and comedy was the induction of Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi into the Nigeria Book of Records.
Held at the Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, the evening organised by the Youths of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church and the Celestial Church of Christ, also witnessed awards of university scholarships to youths who distinguished themselves in diverse fields of assignments.
Conferring the prestigious honour of inductee of the Nigeria Books of Record on Reverend Ajayi, the Director General of the agency, Dr. David David, described the woman, known for her spontaneous giving, as an epitome of encouragement, hope and beacon of light to her generation, noting that she has affected more lives within a short period.
In appreciation, Reverend Mother Ajayi, thanked the organisers, and pledged not to rest on her oars as ‘giving is my attitude’.
In her usual philanthropic mien and amiable nature, she showered scholarships on five deserving youths who came tops in an academic test organised by the youth body of the two white garment churches. Her benevolence, of course, received sincere applause from a crowd of followers.
In addition, she gave a N50, 000 gift to each of the members of the youth executive body for their selfless impact in steering the affairs of the organization.
Present to spice the evening was Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi’s ardent supporter and believer, the Chairman, Ovation Media Group, Bashorun Dele Momodu; Reverend Ademuyiwa Ajayi and a host of others.
Some of the youths who were presented the outstanding youth award were Oluwasegun Victor Adagba, Aderemi Anuoluwapo Morenike, Odufowakan Adebola Samuel, Ayoola Theresa Adediran, Akinola Esther Olubukola, Fakile Olujimi David, Akinloye Samuel Afolabi, Ajube Mimiyentei Samuel, Ayamolowo Temidayo Emmanuel and Kosoko Kehinde.
The youths, in their various speeches and renditions, stressed that the narratives as regards the white garment churches have changed for the better as well as used the opportunity to invite all and sundry to the soul lifting fiesta.
