The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cancelled all electoral process in Rivers State.
In a letter signed by the INEC National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, the commission cited pockets of violence in many parts of the state as we as disruption of electoral process by thugs as some of the reasons for cancelling the process.
The commission apologized to the electorate and all stakeholders and promised to hold elections in the state on a later date.
