The Senior Special Adviser on Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina, has, on behalf of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said that the appearance of the name of the richest man in Nigeria, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on the party’s list of Presidential Campaign Council was not necessary, adding that he is a member of the Peace Committee and therefore, cannot be partisan campaign council.

“It has become imperative to further clarify the status of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, named under the sub-head ADVISORY MEMBERS in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council announced on Friday, December 28, 2018.
“Africa’s richest man, not being a card-carrying member of APC, cannot, and is not member of the PCC. He is also a member of the Peace Committee, and thus cannot be in a partisan campaign council,” Adesina said in a new release.
Recall that the APC had released a list of its Presidential Campaign Council detailing Dangote and Mr. Femi Otedola as members as SPECIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MR. PRESIDENT.
Adesina’s new release was however, silent on Otedola.
