IG Removes Plateau CP, Appoints Successor

Date:

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has removed the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, with immediate effect.

A statement by the Spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, Matthias Tyopev, announcing the removal, gave no details.

Adie has been replaced with Austin Agbonlahor, who was until his appointment, CP (Operations) in the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

According to The Punch, Adie had earlier been removed by the IGP in June barely 48 hours after the killing of over 200 persons in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South Local Government Areas.

He was, however, recalled after some days.

Aide’s last public function was on Friday when he held a stakeholders’ meeting with political parties ahead of the local government election scheduled for Wednesday.
