Residents of Iba housing estate, Iba LCDA, in Ojo local government area in Lagos had a memorable Independence Day celebration, as they were thrilled to non-stop good music by the one and only Oritse Femi.

This year’s show, which is also known as Independence Groove was themed “A better Nigeria”, and packaged by One mind entertainment in conjunction with International Breweries, makers of Trophy Lager beer, had a lot of talents also displaying their artistic skills on the same stage with Oritse Femi.

Now in its ninth season, the high point of the show was when the self styled musical Taliban introduced a mini dance competition on stage which the audience grabbed with both hands. After the competition, four people went home N5, 000 richer, while Favour, a student of the Delta State University, impressed Oritse Femi so much that the Trophy Lager beer ambassador promised to include him as a dancer in his next musical video shoot.

Speaking on behalf of One Mind Entertainment, the President of the outfit, Gbenga Olabode, thanked International breweries and their other sponsors for making this year’s event a successful one. He reminded all present that the independence groove started in 2010 and is held every first day of October, at Iba. He ended his brief speech by inviting everybody to be a part of next year’s independence groove as another big musical star will be featured.
