Just In: Ex-Ondo Governor, Mimiko Joins Presidential Race

Date:

A former governor of Ondo State, Mr. Olusegun Mimiko, has declared to contest the presidency under the platform of the Labour Party (LP).

Mimiko made the declaration at exactly 12:15pm, at an event held at the National Secretariat of the Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam-led LP, in Abuja, on Thursday.

He said there comes a time in the life of a nation where all patriots must stand up to be counted.

“I have found it compelling to declare my intention to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

Mimiko lamented the wanton killings across the country, especially in the Middle Belt saying purposeful leadership was required to halt the carnage.
