His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III Iku Babayeye, played host to guests from far and wide as his beautiful daughter, Princess Rukayat Adeteju wedded her heartthrob, Hakeem Adeshina at the Aganju Royal Forecourt, Alaafin’ palace, Oyo State in an elaborate Nikkah ceremony.
The parade of the best in the society event, which was officiated by Alhaji Nurudeen Sarumi, kicked off with an opening prayer by Alhaji Dauda Igiogun, who invoked the blessings of the most high on the occasion and on the about to be wedded couple.
After the heartwarming prayers, events took off in quick succession culminating in the satisfactory performance of the marriage rites by both families. With utmost satisfaction ringing on the faces of all present, the couple was pronounced husband and wife to the admiration and joy of the huge crowd of witnesses.
Having concluded the religious and traditional exchanges of rites and vows, the guests were treated to a grand reception at the same venue.
The chairman of the occasion, Oba Agbabiaka Kabiru, was on hand to give the couple valuable tips to living a peaceful and more purposeful marital life.
The cutting of the gigantic wedding cake marked the climax of proceedings as Fuji music maestro, Adewale Ayuba thrilled the guests with a spectacular performance as garnished dishes and exotic drinks flowed without restriction.
