A former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, penultimate Sunday, formally declared his intention to run for the presidency come 2019.
In an elaborate event held at the Yola Township Stadium, the presidential hopeful made his intention known surrounded by his campaign director, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, Former Minister of Transport, Mrs. Kema Chikwe, Senator Shade Bent, Senator Ben Bruce, Mr. Jimi Agbaje among many others.
The event, which was facilitated by a former two term governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, in his capacity as the Director General of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, was testament of how Nigerians have received the former Vice President as the remedy the country needs at this time.
With chants of ‘Sai Atiku Sai Atiku’ filling the air, it was a humble Atiku to managed to speak over their voices in reception of the ‘mandate’ which the voices of the people have bestowed on him.
According to Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Atiku Abubakar remains the best among a retinue of aspirants seeking the presidential seat, including the incumbent president.
