Senate Plenary Resumes As Maze is Returned … ‘We will Sit till 6pm If Need Be’

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, has announced that Senate plenary has resumed as the maze ‘stolen’ by suspected vandals has been returned. He noted that consequently, the Senate is out of executive session.

The spokesman further hinted that the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu is presiding, just as the members have mandated the Inspector-General of Police , Mr. Idris Ibrahim, and the Director General of the State Security Services, Mallam Lawan Daura, to retrieve the stolen maze within 24 hours.

Members of the House of Representatives led by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Yusuf Lasun, are in the at the Senate Chambers on solidarity visit.

In his response, the presiding officer, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, said the Senate is not deterred in carrying out its duties, and if need be will sit till 6pm to conclude its matters for the day.

“We are determined to conclude all matters slated on the Order Paper for today, even if it means us sitting until 6pm,” he said.
