King Mswati’s Dejected 8th Wife, Senteni, Commits Suicide

Date:

Senteni Masango, the eigthth wife of Africa’s last absolute monarch, has died after she committed suicide. She was found dead in the early hours of Friday.

Barely a week after the burial  of her sister, Nombuso Masango, the king’s wife died of over dosed of about 40 amytriptyline capsules.

According to Wikipedia, amitriptyline, which is sold under the brand name Elavil among others, is a medicine primarily used to treat a number of mental illnesses. This include major depressive disorder and lack of attention disorder. Sources close to her revealed how unhappy she was within the royal household. What made matters worse was the king’s order to ensure that she neither attends her late sister’s memorial service nor funeral.

Lately she has lived alone for over 3 years in a big mansion with no single visit from her husband, the king. Attempts made to contact the king’s right hand man, Khandlela Mdluli’s, for comment proved abortive as his phone rang unanswered.

King Mswati is known to be obsessed with women, especially the very young ones. He has at date married 15 young wives
