The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, made the call at the presentation of staff of office to Oba Saburee Babajide Bakre as the new Agura of Gbagura at Abeokuta.
The new Agura of Gbagura, Oba Saburee Babajide was then instructed to consider his appointment as a call to duty and an opportunity to create an atmosphere that would facilitate rapid development of Gbagura and its environs.
The Governor stated that the enthusiasm that greeted the declaration of Bakre as Oba, revealed that his appointment enjoys the overwhelming support of the people of Gbagura; hence the people of Gbagura should support the monarch as he will be a father to all, irrespective of their political, religious and social inclinations
Thus, he added, showed that the nomination and selection processes that produced him, followed due process, as prescribed by the Chiefs Law of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko, appreciated the people of Gbagura for their supports and he also urged the monarch to carry his people along, in his task of developing Gbagura.
Oba Bakre, who is now the 9th Agura of Gbagura in his acceptance speech, appreciated the unwavering support and trust reposed in him by the people of Gbagura, soliciting their support for a successful tenure on the throne.
