We Trust Your Leadership, NANTA Assures NCAA DG

Nigeria’ s travel trade professional body, National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), has said the dedication, commitment, and resilience of the Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, has impacted on the transformation of the Nigerian aviation business in recent times.

In a congratulatory letter, dated, February 19th, 2025, to the newly confirmed NCAA Director General, and signed by NANTA President, Mr Yinka Folami, the travel trade group highlighted some significant and transformative milestones introduced by the creative leadership and impact of Captain Chris Najomo, such as the presence of the digital portal for consumer protection and engagement, the level of courtesy and responsiveness to the aviation downstream professionals, fair practice, capacity building and the protection of consumers.

“We remain a strong ally to your vision in NCAA for a more prosperous Aviation sector in Nigeria, and we trust your leadership for more progressive impact across all stakeholders; “NANTA President stated”.

NANTA President further urged the NCAA Director General to continue in the efforts to ensure and guide the travel trade business in Nigeria towards meeting global best practices and competitiveness.

FTAN Partners Akwa Ibom to Host 2023 World Tourism Day

The Akwa Ibom State Government in partnership with the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) is set to host the 2023 edition of the World Tourism Day.

A statement by the FTAN President, Mr Nkereweum Onung, disclosed that the event will span three days accommodating September 26 through to September 28 with specific activities lined up for grand festival as follows:

26th – Arrivals & Cocktail

27th – Tourism Conference & Award Nite

28th – Visit to Akwa Ibom State Tourism Assets

The statement also revealed that the theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Tourism & Green Investment’, noting that the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has identified investments as one of the key priorities for tourism’s recovery and future growth and development.

Onung therefore, called on all tourism practitioners, heads of Federal and State agencies in the Tourism sector and key stakeholders and players and the general public to brace up for the event as all roads lead to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The event is a wake up call on the international community, governments, multilateral financial institutions, development partners, and private sector investors to unite around a new tourism investment strategy for prosperity and a better planet.
