There’s palpable tension at the MKO Abiola Stadium venue of the #EndBadGovernance protest in Abuja as pro-government protesters arrive to counter the the ongoing protest.
The counter protesters, who arrived at around 10am in about eight coaster buses as at press time, were chanting pro-government songs, and asking the anti-hardship protesters to go home.
In the melee that ensued, the Police, led by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ben Igwe, who was already having a running battle with the anti-hardship protesters, led by Deji Adeyanju, over the interpretation of protesting in Abuja Stadium, had to release cannisters of teargas to control a brewing discord.
