The family of late Chief Kolawole Balogun of Osogbo, Osun State, has appreciated the Ataoja of Osogbo Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, for the appointment and conferment of chieftaincy title of Mayeloye of Osogbo Land on their son, Oyewole Oluwafemi Balogun.
The appreciation is contained in a letter signed by Stephen Kola-Balogun, on behalf of the Kolawole Balogun Family, dated November 22, 2023, and made available to The Boss Newspaper.
The Family specially appreciated the Oba for deeming it fit to confer on Balogun the same title previously held by their patriarch, Kolawole Balogun, noting that the gesture ensures that the title remains in the family. It further stressed that among all the titles the patriarch held while he was alive, the Mayeloye was his most cherished.
“It is therefore a double honour for your Majesty to recognise one of our very own family member to carry on with this chieftaincy title and retain it within the family thereby transcending to the next generation,” the statement posited.
