Nigerians Celebrate Kekwaaru Ngozi Mary for Returning Lost $70,000

By Eric Elezuo
The social media space has been buzzing all week following the return of misplaced $70, 000 by a staff of Eko Hotels and Suites Kekwaaru Ngozi Mary.
The incident, accordingbto reports, occurred when a guest left behind an envelope containing the substantial sum in one of the hotel’s suites.
On discovering the bag, the staff member immediately reported it to the hotel management, which in line with the establishment’s policy of integrity and transparency, promptly initiated the process of returning the money to its rightful owner.
The guest was contacted and the money was returned in full, much to their relief and gratitude.
Reacting to the incident, the General Manager of Eko Hotel and Suites, Danny Kioupouroglou, said “this incident is a testament to the honesty and integrity of our staff.
“At Eko Hotel and Suites, we pride ourselves on our commitment to ethical conduct and exceptional customer service. We believe that our staff are our greatest asset, and this incident is a testament to that belief.”
The guest expressed his profound gratitude to the hotel staff and management, praising their swift action and integrity.
Among notable individuals that praised Ngozi Mary’s effort is former Anambra State Governor and president candidate of the Labour Party at the February 25, 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi.
Taking to his verified Twitter account, Obi hailed the Eko Hotel staff as a symbol of the new Nigeria waiting to be unveiled, insisting that these are the type of Nigerians that need to be celebrated, not those representing the country negatively.
He wrote with his signature PO: “It is heartwarming and reassuring that despite the hardship in the country and the prevailing moral decadence in society, a staff of Eko Hotel and Suites, Kekwaaru Ngozi Mary, was reported to have returned a misplaced sum of $70,000 to a customer of the hotel in Lagos.
“When will Nigeria start celebrating the likes of Miss Ngozi Mary for her honesty and integrity, Teacher Akeem Badru, for winning the 2023 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award, and many others like them?
“These are the people who deserve to be given national honours and awards and recognition, instead of celebrating those who have impacted our nation negatively. In the New Nigeria that we desire, these are the kind of people that will be celebrated. A New Nigeria is POssible.” -PO
A twitter user, @nkechi_first, noted as follows: “A Show of Honesty and Integrity in Nigeria in an era plagued with economic hardship and moral decadence, one woman’s exceptional act of integrity has shone a light of hope.
Another user observed thus: @shehumahmed, wrote “In a world where it can sometimes feel like kindness and honesty are becoming rare commodities, Ngozi Mary’s selfless gesture reminds us that there are still individuals who uphold strong values and principles. Her actions go beyond the ordinary, touching the hearts of many and renewing our faith in the goodness of people. Such acts of integrity deserve to be celebrated and recognized, for they set a powerful precedent for others to follow. Ngozi Mary’s honest conduct not only reflects positively on her character but also on the reputation of Eko Hotel and Suites, a place that evidently fosters an environment of trust and respect.”
On his part, @realuweez said, “From her looks alone you can tell her hospitality, She carried the full values displayed by her side. Only one person carry Ngozi and Mary as names. You suppose know wassup”
@jerry1shima wrote, “This is actually a good one. Despite the common believe that the IGBOS love money to the extreme ends. God will bless her abundantly for her kindness and good heart. Let’s drop a heart for her and the parents as well for good upbring♥️♥️♥️
@CyndiGold2 wrote “This is Really Heartwarming to see. Nigerians are good people. Congratulations to Ngozi and Eko Hotel because it’s not easy to return $70,000 in the face of the present Nigeria and the Double Digits Inflation.”
