Family Confims Death of Former Senator Annie Okonkwo

A former Senator, who represented Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Clement Annie Okonkwo, is dead.

A family source said the former lawmaker died on Wednesday, in the United States aged 63 years.

“The entire Okonkwo family of Iruebenebe village Ojoto, announces the passing on to glory of High Chief Annie Okonkwo. Indeed, Ojoto has lost her political pillar.

“Further details and arrangements would be made known to the public after deliberations and meetings are held within the family,” his family announced through a statement on Thursday.

Born May 23, 1960, Chief Okonkwo obtained Advanced Diploma in Marketing and Advanced Diploma in Commercial Law and Practice all from the University of Lagos. He is also an Alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School where he also got an Advanced Diploma in Management.

Senator Okonkwo represented Anambra Central Senatorial District from 2007 to 2011 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
