The Director General of the National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Segun Runsewe, has said that the major essence of this year’s edition of the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) is to reunite Nigerians through the display of deep-rooted cultural heritage.
Runsewe made this revelation in a press statement he signed himself, adding that the festival tagged Eko NAFEST 2022, is strategically designed to lubricate the synergy between the council and the host state, Lagos, towards reuniting Nigerians amid diversification.
“This year’s NAFEST is designed strategically as a lubricator of renewed synergy by the Council and Lagos state government to reunite Nigerians for greater tomorrow,” he said.
He added: This year’s event is to open up a new synergy to unite Nigeria. We must not allow other people to tell our stories for us.”
He further applauded the media for making it a priority to talk about the “need for Nigerians to remain united for the good of all.”
The event, which is ongoing with a stupendous opening ceremony held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, is parading participants from across the states of the nation including Abuja, and expected to round off on November 14, 2022.
