In what can be described as a sign of seriousness and preparedness, the Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) gubernatorial candidate has released an elaborate timetable ahead of the 2023 elections.
In a statement signed by Prince Enobong Uwah, Secretary-General of the Umo Eno Campaign Council, the party will begin its vigorous quest for votes across the state on the October 25th with the Eket Senatorial District campaign flag-off, this will be followed on the 27th and 29th with Uyo and Ikot Senatorial Districts flag-off.
The PDP’s gubernatorial campaign flag off will hold on November 8th, 2022 after which the campaign train will visit all the LGAs in the state. The LG campaigns will be rounded off in Nsit Ubium, the local government area of the candidate, Pastor Umo Eno, the statement revealed.
It will be recalled the Umo Eno Campaign Council was inaugurated on Monday, October 17th, 2022 with so much fanfare at the newly-opened Campaign Ground in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.
At the inauguration ceremony attended by PDP heavyweights, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel urged party faithfuls to take the campaigns to all polling units, wards and local governments.
He noted that the battle was not for the strong or swift adding that the Pastor Umo Eno project is blessed by God and will end in victory. He also urged them to work for the victory of all other PDP candidates from Presidential to House of Assembly.
The gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Umo Eno who was accompanied by running mate, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, urged Council and other members to stick to the issues, asserting that his ARISE agenda contained an elaborated blueprint that will boost the state economy, support innovative ideas, engage youths, create tech and agricultural hubs, reinvigorate tourism, strengthen rural development, empower women while furthering peace and prosperity.
The seasoned entrepreneur stated that he has the competence, capacity and track record to build on the gains of the Udom Emmanuel-led administration.
He stated that since the current administration like the others before it had invested massively in roads and other infrastructure, he will connect the dots by ensuring that people adequately feel the presence of government in many aspect of their lives especially in the area of job creation and entrepreneurhip.
