The Board, Management and Members of the Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) congratulate its Chairman, Prince Ade Omole, on his National recognition as one of Nigeria’s Diaspora Icons by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) to mark Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary. The progressive family in the Diaspora joins NiDCOM in celebrating Prince Omole’s giant strides both in the Diaspora and Nigeria.
The +600 Diaspora icons initiative was birthed out of the necessity to recognise and celebrate Nigerians in the Diaspora who are doing great things in their host countries while also contributing to the socio-economic and cultural development of Nigeria. These exceptional Nigerians give their resources, talents, skills and global exposure to make Nigeria a better place while simultaneously flying high the flag of Nigeria in their host countries.
Prince Ade Omole is the Chairman, NDVC, the Body leading the advocacy for Nigeria Diaspora Voting on behalf of over 17 million Nigerians across the Globe. Prince Omole’s leadership prowess saw to the revival and rejuvenation of the Nigeria Diaspora Voting Bill, which had been hitherto cast into the proverbial ‘basket of oblivion’ for lacking, not only content but merit. With his leadership, the NDVC renewed the pursuit for voting by Nigerians in the Diaspora with courage, unrelenting vigour and passion.
It is instructive to note that it has been at great personal and financial cost to Prince Omole and his Team in the execution of the Diaspora Voting Project. The chairman tirelessly deployed numerous resources, human, financial and otherwise, to help put logistics in place for the successful execution of the Project and which is still ongoing. He also undergoes frequent travels in, out and around the country to assist with sensitisation and to monitor events apart from his lobbying trips to the National Assembly (NASS) to canvass for support for the constitutional amendment Bill, which has met with an appreciable degree of success in enlisting their support for the Diaspora Voting Bill.
It is no gainsaying that the efforts put together by the NDVC including facilitating the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give a presentation on enfranchising Nigerians in the Diaspora, have led to encouraging signs that success is nigh for the Diaspora Voting (DV) Bill to be passed into law. The DV Bill, for the first time in Nigeria’s political history, has passed the Second Reading stage; it was also approved by NASS for the national public hearing and is one of the bills being considered for Constitutional amendment.
Professionally, Prince Omole is a United Kingdom (UK) Defence Ministry NSV-certified Senior Consultant with over 30 years experience in the International Project Management Industry being involved in leading strategic development projects, international transition projects and public sector-focused project solutions. He is a visionary and goal-oriented IT Executive with demonstrable experience in planning, developing and implementing cutting-edge information technology solutions to address Governmental issues. He is adept in crisis management and in delivering value-based programs using interconnected information management systems.
Prince Omole has Master’s Degrees in IT (MSc IT), Law (LLM with Distinction specialising in conflict resolution); two Bachelor Degrees, LLB and BA (Hons); and a string of professional certifications and qualifications in Microsoft, Novell, Unix, Cisco and Project Management. He is an experienced administrator of resources with executive experience in varying fields spanning management roles at Hewlett Packard (HP), JP Morgan Investment Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Credit Suisse Bank, the National Health Service (NHS), Kent County Council, Transport for London, Northgate IS, S-Three Management Services, Panduit Europe Ltd and South Bank University in the UK, amongst others.
Prince Ade Omole has never left anyone in doubt as to what he stands for – his belief has always been towards instauration, the revamp of a new Nigeria: a Nigeria where there is freedom for all, a Nigeria where every citizen is treated equally, respectfully and protected. An Egalitarian Nigeria devoid of hellacious cum avaricious leadership. This is his idiosyncrasy, his ideal, and he tenaciously stands by it.
He was recently nominated for an international award by the United Nations as an anti-corruption czar and one of its ambassadors.
